EITO: positive forecast

There is a trend reversal in the European high tech market. This reports the German IT association BITKOM based on updated information received from the European market research institute EITO. Based on their forcast the revenue with products and services of the sectors information technology, telecommunication and consumer electronics in the European Union will decline by 0.6% in 2010 and reach 704 billion Euros. For 2011 they forecast a growth by 1.3% to 713 billion Euros.
Prof. Scheer from BITKOM said: "The European ITC industry was hit later and less by the worldwide finacial crisis."


BITKOM (Bundesverband Informationswirtschaft, Telekommunikation und neue Medien e.V.) is the association of the German companies in the sectors information technologie, telecommunication and new media. 700 direct members rpresent total revenues of more than 120 billion Euros and 700,000 German employees. This includes vendors of end systems and infrastructureas well as software vendors, service and content providers. BITKOM fights for better conditions in the market, enhancements of the education and investment oriented politics.
